Understanding Trademark Objection
There are several reasons, the Trade Marks office can impose an objection on your Trade Mark application. The common reasons include:
• Similarity with an existing trademark
• Offensive trademark
• Confusing trademark
• Ambiguous trade mark
The registrar office will publish an examination report online to which you need to respond within a month of publication.
In case the application was sent to you or your lawyer directly, you must respond within one month of receiving it. In case you fail to respond to the examination report, your trademark application will be rejected.
