GST Migration

GST migration is a process of issuing provisional GSTIN to existing taxpayers. Every taxpayer who had registered under service tax must enroll under GST by validating the email address and mobile number.

Provisional registration
On enrollment for the GST, a taxpayer will get a provisional certificate of registration. This registration consists of the GSTIN number. If a taxpayer has multiple registrations under a single permanent account number (PAN), then the one will now get only one provisional registration on PAN under the GST act.

An individual with centralized registration under service tax will be granted only a single provisional registration in the state.

Final registration
If a person is liable to register for GST then, first of all, he/she needs to apply. Within three months, any information regarding service tax should be furnished.

If the application you have submitted is correct and complete with the compliance of the GST rules and regulations then the final registration is given to the taxpayer.

While on another hand, if the information is incorrect and incomplete then the authorities will issue a show-cause notice to the registered application. Then a reasonable opportunity is given to the taxpayer but if the taxpayer is unable to do it then the provisional registration got canceled.

While in case if the taxpayer or applicant’s reply is quite satisfactory then the show cause notice can be nullified and the final registration is done.
